Smart Cards
Usage of smart cards will eliminate cash transactions as the Smart cards will be connected to various mobile money platforms for prepayment. The individual cards will be charged with an amount in Kwachas. The amount will be deducted from the Smart Card upon receiving a set batch of water from the dispenser.

Water Management System
iTap will feature a central based server billing system. This will provide tranparency of billing services and eliminate differences in charging systems for the same amount of water consumed.

24-Hour Accessibility
The self service itap water ATM will greatly combat time limitation offered by the currently existing kiosks, as the current ones can only be accessed during hours which kiosk attendants are able to serve clients
